Art-Based Life Discovery-Teen (13-17)
Service Description
Adolescence often brings new questions about identity, belonging, values and the future. Young people may begin to think more about who they are, what matters to them, where they fit in and how they would like to live. In these individual sessions, I use art-making, reflection and conversation to explore these questions with teenagers. Making art can bring thoughts, feelings and ideas into view in ways that conversation alone sometimes cannot, and gives us something tangible to reflect on together. What we explore depends on the young person. It might include their interests and values, how they see themselves, relationships with family and peers, expectations they experience from others, or thoughts about study, work and future directions. We may also explore broader questions about what matters to them and what they want their life to look like. Sessions develop around the young person’s own interests, questions and experiences, with art providing a way to explore them at their own pace. No previous art experience is required.
